John Dickson 12 ga., 29″ nitro proof steel barrels, game rib, choked open improved and improved cylinder (.004/.009), 2-1/2″ chambers.  A very nice example from Scotland’s celebrated original Best.  Auto ejectors, double triggers, auto safe.  The action retains a pleasing blush of case color and remains extremely crisp, detailing the finest scroll and “John Dickson & Son Patent” in a flowing banner.  Barrels are inscribed with the 63 Princes Street Edinburgh address.  This round action features the desirable raised gold cocking indicators on the broad top strap flanking the opening lever.  Highly figured straight hand stock of wonderful true French walnut shows streaming black bold ribbons against an amber background flowing towards the toe.  Measures 1-3/8″, comb 2″ heel, 14-5/8″ over a 3/4″ mahogany color leather pad.  Overall in lovely condition with a few handling marks. True lightweight at 6 lbs, 5oz.  This circa 1895 beauty can be sold direct. Leather case lined in green velvet with Maker’s label.  A true highland treasure.
