Watson Bros Pre-war Deluxe 20 ga. sidelock features 27″ swamped rib barrels choked strong improved cylinder and modified (.011/.016).  2-3/4″ chambers 7/8 oz.proof, hidden third bite.  Double trigger, auto ejectors, and auto safe.  The sidelock action retains rich dark case colors that provide the perfect backdrop or the striking bold acanthus engraving.  The large acanthus against the small frame gives an” in motion” effect to this racy little gun.  Since 1885, Watson Bros. have been known as small bore specialists, and this 20 bore is a superb example.  Straight hand stock and splinter for end.  Fabulous true French walnut exhibits lots of black figure against rich amber and gold background.  Measurements are 1-3/8″ comb, 2-3/8″ heel, 14-3/8″ LOP to a checkered butt.  A hint of cast off.  At a shade under 5-1/2 lbs., and balanced just at the back of the pin, this is what a truly scaled gun should be.  Wonderful in the original oak and leather case.
